hi,

does anyone make hats, not crochet?  I've made all kinds of hats.  Even though I've made a multitude of hats, I still have a tough time sewing the top to the crown and the crown to the brim without a pucker or two.  I read somewhere that this is just to be expected and don't fret over it.  Anyway, for the crown to the brim, I usually cover any boo boos with some trim.  I call this type of sewing ... sewing in the round.  ha ha.

Sewing hats is a lot like sewing purses, just upside down.

my head measures medium, but I usually need large.  Then, sometimes large is too big.

I would like to make a hat to fit my husband.  I made a trial Fedora type hat last time.  he said that it fit great, then the real thing was too small.  The sample material had a slight stretch, but I didn't think it was enough to make a difference.

I have said this for a long time, but maybe i'll learn how to post photos.

thanks.
