It was our first time trying and was really fun. 



We were nervous at first because our dye vat looked blue - it's not supposed to - but that was just the part of the vat that was in contact with oxygen. 




It worked really well. We used linen, woven cotton and cotton jersey and they all took the dye happily.



The fabric comes out of the vat looking green but turns blue after contact with oxygen.

Awesome!  I've got an indigo kit and am soooo excited to use it. This only makes the anticipation greater!

I think the hardest part about indigo dyeing is that it's too cold in WI and we can't dye more till Spring!
