I want a capricorn thingy!  I can just imagine her gathering her "specimens" off the side of the road.  When she's in her 50's she'll be doing it in her bathrobe with her trusty shovel and garbage bag.

those pickled pets made me want to cry, especially he kitten. as weird as some of us are, does anyone really want a hairless, dead kitten floating in a jar.

i enjoy creepy crafts but more along the lines of sassetteopant's battered lady tins.

but, to each his own, right?

The Custom Creature chick uses roadkill and euthanized animals (killed for 'humane', not artistic purposes).
Except for "Destroyed Nussiance Animals"  that must be the ratties, sigh.

My husband's college roomate dabbled in taxidermy, and to pass the time one winter he gathered squirrel carcasses and designed an entire scene of squirrels in a bar -- playing pool, sitting around drinking beer, shooting foosball -- he made the little pool table with balls, cues, everything.  It was hysterical in a 'I can't believe you did that with dead squirrels' kind of way.

Very creative, yet very disturbing at the same time.

Some of the fantasy stuff is pretty funny, though...I admit.

I'm undecided as to how I feel about this.  I agree with the waste not/want not point of view of it, and using carcasses from road kill and animal shelters and stuff, but the cat head made me almost start crying.

I knew someone who had a jar of dead mice once, but they weren't "preserved".  They were caught in a traditional mousetrap and he put them into a jar and screwed on the lid.  It became really disgusting.

Yea that's pretty gross.

I know what you feel about the waste not/want not, but there has to be SOME POINT when we stop recycling. Seriously.

By the way, a friend sent me this link thinking I'd love the squirrel decanter. I do, but I don't want squirrel fur to accidentally get in my booze.
