I had no idea how easy it is to make your own peanut butter at home!  We go through A LOT of it at my house and I'm sure will be going through quite a bit more since it's summer time and the kids are going to be eating at home everyday.  I had been trying to only buy natural PB at the store but it's rather expensive and still has lot's of sugar in it.  So I saw somewhere on the web how to make your own at home.  You do need a food processor which I just happened to get for Christmas this year!  Dump in your peanuts.  I used a mix of unsalted and low salt and added just a bit of sugar and turn that sucker on.  At first it looks like it's just chopping the nuts up like this

But keep going and I promise it will all come together!

I am thinking I should have blended it a bit longer since it was still a bit "gritty" but hey, now I know for next time!

I should make some for my hubby. He loves homemade peanut butter. I bet your peanut butter is a million times better than store bought (even the natural stuff).

The only difference is that it's not as sweet.  I figure it's not a big deal though cause my kids usually add jam or honey to their sandwiches which adds enough sweetness.
