I have decided it might be great fun to dabble a bit in the world of art competition and created this piece as my first submission.  Some element of the theme 'maps' had to be featured within the art.  I featured many variations on the theme, but hopefully they are not too hidden to be noticed.

This was also the first piece I have ever done where I took and posted progress pictures of every step.  If you are interested in seeing those, they are posted on my art Facebook page.

Thanks for looking!

I feel like an idiot. I didn't even see the face until I looked at your facebook page. Man, I almost got lost on that page, so much awesomeness. You're pretty rad. And your pics that weren't your own were pretty sweet too, though I think I want to hurt myself after seeing someone comment on that knitting piece and calling it tatting. D'oh!
Sorry, I'm getting off topic. This "Map of I am" is very amazing. You stun me with every piece I see you make. Like, I can't wrap my head around how awesome and talented and patient you have to be to get this kind of work done. Bravo, dear.

Beautiful!  The compass rose is particularly elegant.

I must say very nice work, not much of an artist myself but loves these types of great art work!

Thank you all so much!  Jexxican - Don't sweat not seeing the head.  I don't think it stands out really.  There is so much going on.  Ditto on the tatting Smiley
