I am learning how to thread draw, using patterns from Quilts and Stuff by Glenna.  Nearly all her patterns are nature themed.  I started with her dvd tutorial, which I bought during a shop hop last fall.  I finally gained enough confidence to work up two of her patterns -- iris and daffodils.  I still have lots of practicing to do, but my inexpert thread manipulation didn't seem to spoil these designs.

Once I had the quilted tops done, I used them to create pillows (they were designed to be wall hangings) and constructed pillows from some sheets I have laying around and polyfill.  I am going to give these to my mom to brighten up her living room!

Those are gorgeous! I don't know if you were going for an uneven line on all the edges but I like it!  Cheesy

ha ha  -- the uneven lines are part of the technique, although my uneven lines are a bit more wonky than Glenna's!  It's free motion stitching and I am not yet very good at it!  But I like it!

Thanks!  Yes, they are applique.  The pieces are attached to the background with fusible web and then outlined with free motion thread drawing techniques.
