Clothing Challenge 5 - Little Black Dress

Congratulations to rebecnik for her winning entry: Little Black Halter Dress!

The Little Black Dress: "A simple, elegant black dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion" (Wikipedia). Considered a staple to any wardrobe we could all use one, but why buy one when we can make one?

Rules and Suggestions:
  • Your entry should not have been posted on Craftster previously (ie not something you made and posted years ago!)
  • If using a pattern or tutorial, please let us know.
  • You can begin crafting at any time but remember to post your thread in this board from July 1st through July 8th. Voting will be open July 9th through July 16th.
  • Use your own interpretation of the theme. If you want to make a black dress for your three year old that's still a little black dress. If you have black dress that you want to reconstruct, go ahead.

I should do this. My sister made me a little black dress years ago but it's never fit me. Sad

This sounds like a fun contest. I have a pattern and fabric for a black dress in my 'to make' pile, burried under several pairs of jeans, tops and a blazer style jacket. I'm in, if I get through the other projects in time.

Hey, sounds like fun!  I've got a wedding to attend in August, and I've been away from Craftster for a while.  This might be the ticket to get myself back into the swing of things around here.

Ooh, this is already on my TODO list!

I'm super tempted (that's like regular tempted, except that I'm also wearing a cape) to do this. I've been trying to improve the finish of my clothing, and I have a pattern I found online that I've been meaning to play with. I always need more interesting black pieces for work. Boring, boring dress code... This might quite literally be the challenge I need.

I'd love to do this! I need a basic black dress for work! Smiley

I can't wait! Started my muslin mock-up today. This will be my first Craftster challenge!

Can I post something I have already made but have never posted on crafter? (I have posted it elsewhere)
