I created a costume based on Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates for my daughter for her friends birthday party.

I found the boots and had the pants.

For the shirt I used Simplicity pattern 1669 and created the top of the dress. I followed the instructions and it was pretty simple. I then hemmed the bottom of the shirt instead of continuing with attaching the skirt. Note: cut the pieces for the bodice longer and forgo using the middle strip. I ended up with a seam in the middle of my shirt because I didn't do this.

I used Metallic White Puffy paint to make the swirls along the edges of the shirt and the head scarf.

For the  head scarf I used a long piece of the same pink fabric (Jo Ann's pink cotton). I hemmed the edges and then decorated it. I put it on her head and tied it.

The bag is a simple piece of yellow cotton with a rock in it for weight. I didn't hem it. I used a piece of leather cord and double tied it around the bag and then knotted it around her neck.

Please ask any questions.

It's not a mistake. It's...um...a design feature.

That is adorable!  Great job!  I did a Jake costume last year for my youngest.
