What a great improvement. And how fun to be able to sit outside and have dinner.

That's a very nice outdoor space you got. It must be dreamy to eat, relax  or even work there.

What a great outdoor space! It's nice that you have both open and covered areas. I want to come over and sip wine on the deck... and in the hot tub Smiley.

Thanks!  Hubby installed two exterior ceiling fans today so it's even more inviting in the heat.   Smiley

I know a fan is more appropriate for the summer months but did you guys look into overhead heaters for the winter months? It's something we're considering for our deck do-over.

There's not much in this world that can't be improved by either chocolate, bacon or glitter.

Oh my! I bet you feel like you put an addition onto your house with all that useful and inviting space.  I love that you didn't put the rail back up all the way around, too.  I think a lot/most people automatically put a railing on a deck and don't consider that if it's at ground level or just a stair's height higher there's no need.

We're planning to get a propane heater eventually, LimeRiot.  If you find a good source, please let me know!

One of the first things I asked our contractor was if the rail was required by code, TheMistressT.  I was happy to find out it isn't.  We do plan to incorporate a few built in planters and a bench around some areas of the perimeter.
