Whew I never realize how much goes on at Hogwarts until I step away for a little bit. I went to San Diego with my husband for work and came back to about a million awesome projects.

Sadly it means my crafting time/ supplies were limited but I do have one project to post and can't wait to get back into more, In fact I've got one planned for today.

So I got a chance to finish up my Owl!

~*COMPLETED OWL HEADER*~
OWL Subject & Option (if available): Potions Option 1
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Multi textured shawl
Project Page Link (if available):http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=425175.0#axzz2Y5tldrpC
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques used, any fun tips, etc.)This shawl consisted of 3 different textures well 5 if you count the seed stitch and the breaks between the main textures. Each pattern repeats three times expect for the first which repeats four times. The variety of patterns really helped to keep me interested and to keep going. I messed up a couple of times and didn't notice but thankfully the pattern is forgiving and you can't really tell. Overall I enjoyed knitting it and I'm looking forward to when it's cool enough to get a chance to use it.

Pinkleo: the colour of that yarn is quite lovely!
travelgirl: I love that shawl! Now I want to go back to my idea of making a tunic out of squares of different techniques

I have had a busy crafting week, so now I am posting more of that before the kids get home and the crafting will slow down somewhat =)
This week did earn me my first bingo though, so yay for that! (vertical, from HoM to DADA)

Class: Arithmancy
SPEW: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Celtic ice
Brief Description: I made these half gloves, with celtic inspired cable knitting to represent stone hedge as I think of it- full of mystery of the old magics.

Class: Alchemy
SPEW: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Petrol Paws
Brief Description: For some reason the colour petrol has always reminded me more of peacocks than of oil. Perhaps it's that deep, mix of shades that they both share? So, in dedication to the peacock I made these half gloves, in the same model as the light blue ones.

Class: Potions
SPEW: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Warm baby, happy baby
Brief Description: I have noticed that our little mini-person needs to keep his feet warm, so I figured it's the same for most kids up here in the north. Hence I made some socks (from this pattern:  http://xalleykatx.livejournal.com/50196.html)to keep some tiny child warm and able to sleep cozily.

Challange: Bertie Bott's Bean
SPEW: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: From the earth
Brief Description: I sort of liked doing these tiny babysocks, so I just kept going. These ones are brown to represent the element earth.

Class: CoMC
SPEW: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Jobberknoll shoes
Brief Description: Inspired by the Jobberknoll.

Class: Qudditch
SPEW: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Portkey!
Brief Description: So.... I couldn't think of anything that is safe to have lying aruond outside since I live on an estate where there are loads of hotell/conference/camp-guests, so anything could be picked up by mistake. Instead I made sure to put the item where no one would find it. And this is where you all get jealous. I put it just behind my house. In a small opening in the old mill ruin by the stream. Even is I know guests go to the ruin some times, but to get to the little hole you actually need to climb upon the old over grown stone bridge which leads out to a tiny strip of land (about 1 meter wide) leading.. no where. So, no one ever does, apart from me, because I like sitting there to read. With wild strawberries grown all over the bridge. I know, you're jealous, right? What can I say? We slytherins know where to live Wink

My camera sucks I am afraid, so I can't any pictures that does the place justice, but this is what it looks like, with the bridge and such. I love my backyard.

~*Happy 4th American Students!*~

I'm exhausted already!  Just spent the day with my kiddos and nieces, playing some of the messy games EVER!  Paint Twister, Silly String Tag, Gummy Worm & Whipped Cream Relay, Marshmallow Fluff & M&M Attack!, Goop Tub Trouble, and ended with Water Balloon Fight and Poppers....and then serious hose down! Class/Challenge/House Pride: SoAR
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Talking Firecracker

Brief Description:

I spent hours searching for the perfect present for my mother's birthday, I had almost lost all hope when I happened upon this talking firecracker at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. A firecracker that is charmed to shout out any phrase you desire as it explodes and erupts into a colorful display.

It couldn't be a more perfect gift for, let me explain, My grandmother always called my mother her firecracker baby because she was born on independence day eve (July third, shortly before midnight), she would jokingly say she arrived then just so she wouldn't miss the fireworks.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Arithmancy
House:Slytherin
Project Name:
High Protein, High Fiber, Vegetarian, 200 calorie English Muffin pizza. Now I realize that normally some little pizzas would not be considered a complicated or dangerous craft, BUT a lot of arithmancy had to be used to make sure that these little treats were healthy enough for my newest curse breaking project: breaking the curse of diabetes. It has been seven days since I decided to try again to get healthy, and Merlin's beard has it taken a lot of wand waving and incantations to stay on track. I know I can do it though, there are many a wizard before me who have broken the curses of obesity and diabetes, so I can too. These pizzas are 200 calories for both of them and they were very tasty! I have worked hard this week to not only eat healthy, but make creative and fun recipes at the same time, so far I have had chipotle tofu fajitas, spicy hibachi broccoli, and lots more, so really turning in this recipe is just turning in an example of the more complicated work I have been doing all week.
