I formed my wine bottle holder by wrapping a slab of fresh clay around a section of PVC pipe & adding a bottom.   It's a perfect fit for a larger bottle of wine.
I left the overlap showing at the back to make it appear as tho the vine is growing from the seam.  I didn't have any real grape leaves but found that artificial ones work very well.  I made little balls of clay & cut them in half to make the grapes.
