When my boyfriend was in high school, a friend's mother made him a hat that looked like Link's.  He said he loved the thing and wore it out and now it's destroyed.  His birthday is in a week and I want to make him a new one.  Does anyone know of a pattern I can use to create a hat like this:

I found a pattern for you.

You could use your tension swatch to adjust the starting number of stitches for whatever head and yarn size you have. If you need to, you could knit it flat and sew it up at the end.

I knitted a hat like this for a friend a few years ago. I made mine a little bigger than his head and felted it slightly.
