My sister-in-law Azure died a year ago, leaving behind two sweet little boys.
To commemorate the one-year anniversary, her family and friends planned a benefit for the boys, to help cover "kids being kids" type expenses (school field trips, summer day camp, etc.).

I made this quilt to donate to the silent auction. I wasn't really working off of a pattern, just trying to put something together quickly, but now that I've seen posts about the Modern Quilt Guild's Plain Spoken, it looks pretty darn similar Smiley I must have seen that one somewhere.

It's not quite twin sized... more like large throw-size or foot-of-the-bed draping size.

Messy, uneven hand quilting:

Wrapped up and ready to be sold!

What a beautiful quilt, and for such a wonderful purpose!  I'm sorry for your family's loss, but glad to see the community come together to support the family.  And I love that you honored her in blues......lovely sentiment.

What a beautiful azure quilt.  I love those colours and shades. So impressed at your hand quilting such a large quilt.  I hope it goes well.

I think it's gorgeous.  Especially the 'messy uneven hand quilting'.  To me, that's where the love is.

Sometimes not so wise Smiley

Beautiful quilt for a beautiful purpose.  Good luck on the benefit!
