I received also, but I opened the package last night and my indoor photography mojo just wasn't working.  I'm going to take photos outside tomorrow and post them.  I can hardly wait to show them off.  My partner did an great job.

Yay!  I'm glad they got to you, and I hope they are still intact!  Smiley  I made threads for the two shrines (tree shrine, Frida Kahlo shrine) because I am using them as challenge entries in the Summer Nerd Games.  Thanks for being a great partner, woobie!

I  got shrines from SlickMariaVic yesterday!!  We were signed up to swap two but three wonderful pieces came.
I adore all of them, but one of them is, like, OMG OMG OMG for me.

First, a folding screen in which nest many different bits of Nature, which she found where she lives, totally across the country from me.


Ingredients: Stick and rafia base with dried beach plants, piece of coral from Florida, and (wicked cool...) a pressed pitcher plant!! The bits can be shuffled around any way I like, which I think is a brilliant idea.

I love the bits of felted material at the edges for touches of color.

Next, a hanging piece made of the most awesome piece of driftwood, which I told her I adored. I have driftwood from all over the place - obsessed with its beauty and the way the waves carve it into something interesting.

I took it outdoors for better lighting, but in reality it hung above my meditation shelf not 2 minutes after unwrapping it.
Check out the close-up of the printed words she added and the face...

My Higher Power is Nature and when I am in emotional trouble (just about every day...) I hold something of her in my hand - water, a bit of grass, anything I can instantly find. I channel my pain into that, knowing it can take it, while I cannot handle it. I chose this phrase to remind me that help is all around all of the time, accessible to me.
I love the hung beads and just everything about this piece, especially the shape of the wood. What a perfect shrine!

Last, is my fave. My eyes bugged out and I gasped when I saw it. It is soooooo ME. Wow, she hit this nail on the head in a big way.

any and all driftwood makes me happy, but my favorite is old boards. I always wonder what they used to be... someone's dock? An old packing crate from a ship? The deck of a pirate vessel?

I am thinking about how many pieces she had to go thru in order to find ones that fit together this perfectly!
It is painted my favorite color - turquoise.
And here it is with the important items installed -

3 of them are in tiny glass vials (sadly one busted on its way across the country, but easily replaceable, I am sure....)
Stuff inside is:
Local agates
Sea glass (also a super favorite of mine)
Plant called Old Man's Beard, and I can see why
Tiny wasp nest (what is she, psychic??!!) and shell and wood. I collect bits of wasp nests. I want to make earrings out of two matching bits someday.
Wow, what a package.
I just cannot believe how SlickMariaVic 'read' me so well.
Thank you so, so, much for your work and attention. It was a smashing success. My meditation shelf now has the 2 shrines, plus the one hanging above it.
