Ok, well, my shrine arrived a week ago, but my partner is incommunicado. Hopefully everything is ok, MissSadieMae! I have permission from lindy to post a picture of it, if my partner can post more pics that would be cool. This was before I tweaked a couple of things. Wish I would have had my husband take more pictures now....

First, the front. This was my first attempt at a shrine or steampunk. Hopefully I didn't fail at one or the other, or both.

Alternate view:

The back:

In the end I wound up placing a red glass heart with a flame in the "burnt" inner right hand corner, but it probably would have been hard to photograph anyway. Also, the gear on the right had come off the jewel, it looked just like the one on the left when it left here. Any comments welcome!

Well, I made it up as I went along, but thanks! I was hoping for "nice attempt" lol. I'm more into the altoid and smaller shrines. I love all of the ones posted so far, love the nature and pop culture themes. And I like the idea of being able to carry it around with me. This was the first time I've made something quite this large. I learned a lot while making it. A LOT. lol.

The chain was actually in hopes that the figure would not come loose and fall out of the box. Purely functional, but it turned out to be a nice look, I thought. Also, I didn't want to use too much glue or other altering material on the bottle, in case my partner wanted to remove it for a collectible. I think it was a perfume bottle at one time, 1940's? 50's? It was hard to let it go, but it just belonged there. I'm an old bottle hoarder. I am trying to learn to share with the other kids. Wink
