You can find wool on Amazon or Etsy that is designated as being Hamanaka.

According to one article I read Hamanaka is just a brand name and the wool is Merino which is available in a lot of different places and doesn't need to be imported from Japan.
Merino is my favorite wool for needle felting. I buy from a place in Wisconsin.

Hope that helps!!

I believe Hamanaka has different kinds of wool.  Most of it is merino but they also have acrylic fiber.  The acrylic wool is called Aclaine.

You can buy it on Etsy!
