Awww - that's a shame, though it sounds like you will have plenty of fun regardless.

Does anyone else do Christmas in July in real life?  We sometimes do one in the Summer as a BBQ.  One year we did do gifts, and they had to be homemade - I even put up a little tree on the gift table.  Here are some of the pictures from when we did it.  We have a tradition in our Christmas gatherings where one person plays Santa, and they have to wear the official hat - it is a Santa hat in a court jester style.

Some people got a bit stressed out by the DIY theme, but I love that some people embraced it pretty fully

yeah, at least a couple like to do the diy thing too.  Somewhere I have the psycho snowmen that one of them made for us all one Christmas.  we also do silly gifts for regular Christmas too.   One year I made a pseudo concert T for a band we all hate for one of them, and out of good sportsmanship, he wears it at Christmas.  But the next year, he painted the lead singer on velvet for me.  I plan on hanging it in the bathroom, near the TV room, as that guarantees he has to see it himself whenever he visits.

Is this the same group that you made the "boobies" for?  (Still one of the funniest crafts I've ever seen)

I can't wait for this swap to start!  I was partnered with Bobomom last year, and she was great!  I'm actually using the DOTD tote she made for me right now!

Onyxnox-your family and friends sound like so much fun!  Grin
