Here are a few ideas for ya!

Giant Pencils - as detailed at http://www.gluesticksandtape.com/2011/09/teacher-size-pencil.html (or try making colored pencils, crayons, markers, and glue sticks)

Turn these pencils into Box Top Collectors - as pictured at http://media-cache-ec4.pinimg.com/originals/54/4c/3f/544c3f894e9ae5860fb93e59e3c5c635.jpg

Pinhole Camera - as detailed at http://diycultures.pbworks.com/w/page/47794628/Pinhole%20Cameras%20(DIY%20approach%20to%20Photoraphy)

Bakers Twine Storage (or any type of string really) - as detailed at http://www.thescrapshoppeblog.com/2012/02/bakers-twine-storage.html

Charger Dock - as detailed at http://www.karimascrafts.com/2011/08/plug-organizer-tutorial.html

Give, Save, Spend Money Banks - as detailed at http://www.busykidshappymom.org/2011/08/give-save-spend-banks-make-your-own.html

Learning Tools such as Word Family Practice Tube - as detailed at http://boymamateachermama.com/2012/05/21/teacher-mama-word-family-practice-tube/

And the Place Value Practice Tube - as detailed at http://boymamateachermama.com/2012/06/28/teacher-mama-another-use-for-a-pringles-can-place-value/

Homemade Pick Up Sticks Game - as pictured at http://boymamateachermama.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/pickup-sticks-container.jpg and detailed at http://boymamateachermama.com/2012/05/09/boy-mama-from-chopsticks-to-pick-up-sticks/

You could try to use the circular container in place of the square one to create a periscope - as detailed at http://www.exploratorium.edu/science_explorer/periscope.html

Or a kaleidoscope - as detailed at http://momsnetwork.com/kids/crafts/crafts2.shtml or perhaps an easier version detailed at http://www.thechocolatemuffintree.com/2011/06/so-easy-kaleidoscope.html

If you don't want to get too crafty with them you could always use them as boot shapers - as mentioned at http://missiontosave.com/2012/09/third-thursday-repurpose-use-pringles-can-as-boot-shaper/

Also one may be able to use these containers as molds for soap and candle making.

I have wanted to try a few of these myself, but ran into a few bumps. For example: I can't figure out how to get the smell of the chips out of the empty cans for storage use, broke or cracked a lot of lids trying to cut holes into them, etc.

Hope this helped or at least inspired ya!  Cheesy

I'm back and would love to make some new crafting friends!

Creative Dragonfly covered a lot of great ideas!  I was going to say cover the cans with scrapbook paper, cut a hole in the center of the lid and store twine in them, or cover the cans with scrapbook paper and use them to organize your small crafts.

Wash them out and use them as containers for freshly baked cookies.

All great ideas above... I agree with Helen though... I've decorated a few with both paper and fabric (or a mix of both), and used for gift "bags"... put cookies in some, jewelry in one... anything... and now I've taken to storing hair accessories and my own jewelry in them..... In fact I moved across country a few years back and they were great for packing things in... and because they were decorated, they looked cute! (Which we all know is a VERY important factor in a move..... lol...)
