The goal is to save my travel photos from future damage and label them.

I have several albums to do, and wanted to keep the classic album look.

Q:  I have four 3.5" x 5" photos that are all horizontal.
I want at least three different layouts that will fit with my style in this album.
Do you have a clever layout, so I can keep the classic album look?

I have no problem putting photographs at an angle, but can't seem to get a decent layout with four identical rectangles.

Let me show you the simple style that works for me-most of the time.

What about doing something like what this picture has? It is different but when flat looks classic.

Assuming you are working on a 12 x 12:

3.5" high - you can't fit more than three vertically
5" wide - you can't fit more than two horizontally

Mathematically, your options are:

2 x 2 block of photos with equal borders, tiled - either vertically centered, aligned top, or aligned bottom.

2 photos across top, 2 photos across bottom, with your labels in the center.

1 photo per quadrant, centered in each quadrent. (I don't think this would be particularly aesthetically pleasing).

Three photos stacked either left or right, feature photo in opposite column, 2/3 up page.

Two photos across the page, vertical center aligned, with a photo aligned above the one on the left, and a photo aligned below on the right; or mirror of this.

Cross pattern - two photos across page, vertical center aligned, with a photo above and below, center aligned.
