Details of swap:

For this swap, you will crochet a variety of motifs for 1, 2, or 3 partners. First time swappers are limited to 1 partner. For each partner, you will need to make a minimum of 7 different motifs that total at least 25 inches. For a circle or square motif just measure across the width. If you are using motifs that are not the same length on each side (such as a rectangle), you should use the smallest measurement to calculate your total inches. So a rectangle that is 3 inches by 8 inches would count as 3 inches.

This swap is scavenger hunt style, meaning you get to pick your motifs from the variety of options listed below:

1. A flower motif
2. A motif that uses stitches in the back loop
3. Pentagon shaped motif
4. Motif uses bobble stitches
5. A lacy motif
6. Bullion stitch
7. Plant or veggie themed (pineapple, leaf, etc)
8. Motif is worked diagonally
9. A Motif you've never made before
10. Motif is made up of smaller motifs (think grannys daughters, yo-yos, etc)
11. Tunisian crochet motif
12. A granny square with a twist
13. Motif is made of at least 3 various shades or tones of one color
14. Motif has 3D element(s)
15. Motif uses front or back post double crochet stitches
16. "Design it yourself" and include pattern that you write
17. Sender's Choice

Other rules:
*Only use worsted weight acrylic, unless your partner(s) indicates otherwise.
*All tails need to be woven in, unless your partner indicates otherwise.
*Communication is very important to me, please be sure to send pms to both myself and your partner(s) when you send and receive. Poor communication will be noted in feedback.
*Please somehow label all your motifs with the scavenger hunt category, pattern name, and source so that your partner and other swap members viewing the gallery will know where it came from, because we will want to duplicate them!  One way to do this is to tie a numbered tag onto the motif and then include a sheet with pattern name and source or typed pattern if you want!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

This sounds like fun!  What do people usually end up doing with the motifs they receive from the swap?  I have made a few flowers before to add to hair ties and such, but I was browsing through the old galleries and people mention curtains and blankets... I am a little perplexed as to how you can crochet different shapes into one bigger piece... google didn't help me much.  Tongue

I'd like to see or hear what all the other craftsterers do with them. Cheesy

Mine are in a box, I am going to make an EPIC blanket. Someday. Grin  It can get tricky to connect different pieces, but I think laying them out and working in sections with some creative joining would do it. There's a cool blanket somewhere on Craftster, let me try to find the link!
