A few weeks ago, I went to Hobby Lobby to get an easel. I left Hobby Lobby with four yards of fabric, a new dress pattern, new needles for my sewing machine, and no easel. Thus, the space dress was born!

Upon opening the pattern and beginning to cut out the pieces, I discovered that it has pockets. I fell in love all over again!

I also love the collar.

I made this dress from Simplicity pattern 1755. Thanks for looking!

super cute! love the fabric and the dress pattern, you did a great job. Last year i moved and I no longer have a hobby lobby near me, and I hate it but in the long run I figure its probably a good thing because I have so many trips like the one you described where i went in for one thing and came out with 12 other things that had nothing to do with my original plans.

I've been cleaning out my fabric stash recently and i found some space fabric with a very similar pattern, of course my first thought was "this needs to be a dress" but then I thought it might look goofy, but seeing your dress look so awsome i think i've been inspired to turn mine into a dress after all  Grin

This makes me think of Ms. Frizzle, and that makes it somehow magically more awesome than it already is! That pattern looks so great! I love that it has pockets, and the fabric is just perfect!
I am sure you'll get that easel eventually Wink
