So for some reason, my presence online has been seriously diminished this last month. I think it might be because I sit around spinning, instead of cruising the interwebs Tongue I hope you don't mind I hog a whole post to myself. I keep meaning to post in Fibre Friday, but I somehow managed to miss it 4 weeks in a row!

I finished all 4.8 ounces of my beige and brown rolags, Navajo plied into a worsted/aran yarn. My goal is to turn these into an entrelac hat for my boyfriend in time for his birthday in October.




I've been steadily plowing through my funky bag o' crap from Sheep Shed Studio. It's mostly this black batt-like roving with a big brown stripe and some white nylon. Hand-carded into rolags, then spun into Navajo-plied worsted weight. This has definitely been helping to improve my consistency. Only 2 pounds to go! I see a sweater in my future... Here's the first 2 ounce skein:




And I made my first foray into an art yarn! My peacock blue superwash met some blobs of white acrylic, which I two-plied into this DK-to-mega-bulky yarn (yeah, HUGE span of size!) that I have no idea what I'll do with. A hat? A purse? Keep it for smooshing purposes?




I may have been gone, but I was not idle!

Ooh, pretty!  That first close-up of the beige and brown makes me drool.

Love the peacock one too!  And I admire your patience wiht hand-carding.  I tried it a couple of times and it drove me crazy.  I keep meaning to try it again sometime.
