In a vain attempt to appear like a fashionable young professional, I made the mistake of buying an ugly tote bag in white leather.  It's real leather, I paid an embarrassing amount for it, and it's too late to give it away/return it.  I've decided to embrace my choice, and add a little adventure to my life by trying to dye it a nice chocolate brown.  I need advice because I don't want to throw away more cash making more mistakes.

This is the purse (description is accurate):

I want to make it match my favorite purchase (this shiny, chocolate brown color): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Julia-Chocolate-Patent-leather-Zippy-Wallet-w-detachable-strap-46726-NWT-/350782217836

Any advice (what to use; leave it to a professional, etc) will be greatly appreciated.

For something that expensive I would take it to a shoe repair and have them do it.

Sorry but I would have to agree with CraftyChef on this one, certainly if you wanted one consistent color.
However if you felt like embellishing it and painting it with some cool design I would think that you could probably find suitable paints in a craft store and have some fun.

Crafting is my favorite waste of time.
