... I just can't stop, can I?  Grin I found this one on ebay for only 5 bucks - but it was in a really bad shape. The whole back was broken - but thanks to my husband and a friend, we got it nice, smooth and secure again.

I used this beautiful upholstery-fabric with prints of Marilyn and Audrey - two of my all-time icons. It doesn't really go with the rest of the things I made, which is why it will probably be given away to a friend (or maybe I'll just put it... somewhere.  Grin )

So here we go:

Thanks so much for looking!

You did a great job. I looooove that fabric. I have posters of Marilyn and Audrey in my living room.  Smiley I love the 50's style in everything from home decorating to clothing.

You're welcome. And it was worth the shot, maybe if he hears more people say that, he will agree   Wink

I'm quite certain that your husband is right and it won't go with your house, so just send it my way, lol.  Seriously, you did a wonderful job on this chair.

@SiFi Mom: Aw, I would have loved giving it to you! But... my husband gave it to his friend who just moved into a new house and fell in love with it. I'm still crying a bit over it.  Grin

@netchez: Thank you so much! Since our new home is nearly finished, I'm starting to look for new projects. There is still more to come Smiley

Hi all, I hope to have landed in the right forum. I quite liked the way your chair was done and I'm hoping to get some solid advice.

I have a much similar chair i would love to reupholster. Because it was in quite a desperate state I basically had to strip it off entirely to find out it had 4 moldy covers on it including the bits of the wood. So now i'm left with just the bare structure of it.
I managed to take out all the nasty nails and over all it still quite solid although i will reinforce it before re cover it up.
Now i'm seriously wondering how i'm i going to approach its reupholstering as I could not find on Youtube any videos of similar chairs been redone from scratch.
My one has big metail springs mounted on metail plates nailed to the wood frame and they are all linked with a square wire at the top i guess to give the squaresh shape. I would love to post a pict but I can't just yet.
Any advice please??
Big thanks you!

Oh my, thank you all so much!  Smiley

@silf72 Sorry for the late answer. There was a tutorial showing how to upholster a cocktail chair from scratch, but it seems like it has been removed (http://ownmade.wordpress.com/2012/12/07/diy-upholstering-a-cocktail-chair/). But maybe you just found a way to wing it?

Happy Thanksgiving and Chanukah to all Craftsters!
