Challenge/Battle/Alert: July Randomizer

Team:  The Team that goes Bump in the Night

Project Geekdom:  Sideshow

Bonus Points: Nerdy, Discovery

Project Name:  Feejee Mermaid

Project thread:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=425866.0#axzz2a0Dx9nyK

Brief Description:  I made this for Cackle in the Sideshow Swap, a live Feejee Mermaid.  I used a lot of raised embroidery/stumpwork in this.  Her muzzle is worked over felt to raise it, and her fins and arms are stumpwork on felt.  Stumpwork originated in England in the 1600s.  She holds a double handful of artificial pearls.  Decoration with artificial pearls dates from at least Elizabethan times.

Oops, forgot to mention I learned Split Stitch and Seed Stitch for this.  Smiley
