Challenge: June Randomizer - Zombies Ate My Brains!
Team: Control Freaks
Project Geekdom: Control Freaks (I am currently playing the game based on the show)
Bonus Points: Super Nerdy: The Walking Dead is a dystopian TV show too.
Project Name: Vixen bracelet
Brief Description: I recently applied to join the Dixon brothers' fanclub, Dixon's Vixens. The other day on Twitter they announced me as a new member. To celebrate, I decided to make myself a bracelet. This type of bracelet is a no brainer because all I have to do is braid the hemp and string the beads.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: May Wordy (haiku)
Team/Ninja: Team Mystery Lovers
Project Geekdom (if any): Greek mythology, mystery
Bonus Points: Nerdy, super nerdy
Project Name: Pandora's box
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I made this for a swap, and now that my partner has received, I can post! I traced some Greek art onto this awesome paper and modpodged it to a papier mache box that I had altered so that the lid was hinged rather than a lift off type.  I used grosgrain ribbon to hinge it, and a small piece as a pull tab for opening.  I lined it with some pretty paper.  Here's a (VERY) brief synopsis of the Pandora story, for any who may not be familiar:  Pandora was a daughter of Zeus, sent to earth to be married.  Zeus gave her a box and made her promise never to open it.  Unfortunately, the mystery just got to be too much for her curious mind, and she took a peek, thereby releasing into the world all the evils known to humankind.  But left in the bottom of the box was a tiny little thing, called hope.  Hope flew out of the box to help combat the evils that had been set free.

On the top of the box is pictured a sphinx, who according to myth, would ask you a mysterious riddle, and if you got it wrong, it ate you.  Tongue

The Greek lettering on the front means "do not open".

Project Pictures:

...and hope, which was in the bottom of the box (this should look familiar  Wink)

And my haiku!

I think it's funny:
My Japanese poetry's
About a Greek box.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June randomizer
Team/Ninja: Fantasy
Project Geekdom (if any): Fantasy and many more
Bonus Points: nerdy, super nerdy
Project Name: Monster pins AKA here's looking at you  Wink
Project Page Link (if available): N/A
Brief Description: Project Picture:
I went to see Monsters University today! I, for one, loved it! I'm glad I prepared and made these little guys (inspired in part by Lovely Miss' googly-eyed hair bow) to carry them with me. I have used "silly eyes" soooo much lately at work that if they weren't a no-brainer material before, they sure are to me now.

I painted each with nail polish and/or regular paint (the yellow one got some glitter paint too!) Everyone has a nice, thick coat of clear nail polish on top.

There's my own kinda-sorta little Mike on the side, horns courtesy of wire, floral tape and glue. It was the best I could do with a round piece of balsa wood and my extremely limited artistic abilities  Roll Eyes
The 3-eyed one glows in the dark.

Well, trust me. He does glow.
