Fabulous projects guys! I'm a bit behind with commenting Undecided but I'm lovin' everything!

Challenge/Battle/Alert: JUNE Wordy
Team: Commercial Free All-Stars
Project Geekdom (if any): The Hobbit/Fantasy
Bonus Points: Nerdy, Discovery
Project Name: The Hobbit Bangle
Brief Description: Since being introduced to The Hobbit in primary school, it quickly became my favourite book and one I still read at least once every year.
I'm trying to get back into the swing of working with polymer clay -- I'm a bit rusty (I think it shows Cheesy), but it's a fun change from sewing dolls. Wink

It was my first time working on a round form, and also my first time using all black clay and then colouring it with mica powder. I tried to add in a few iconic things from the Hobbit; an eagle feather, the burgular symbol from Bilbo's door, the one ring, Sting, Bilbo's contract, the Lonely mountain and of course Smaug. It was a lot of fun, though I found working on a round form challenging at times (hence some of the sides aren't quite even Wink) and I think I might stick to flat surfaces for awhile longer before I attempt it again.

All we have to decide is what to craft with the time that is given to us.

I love the textural effects on the bangle, and I especially like the Lonely Mountain!

@SpeakGeekAndEnter:  Your bracelet is wonderful!  I'm not usually a huge fan of polyclay itself, but this is so much fun and you've really elevated it to something extraordinary.  Well done madam!

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Battle Royale: HORROR!
Team/Ninja: Of Ships and Men
Project Geekdom (if any): Retro Housewife (I know I'm a big Nerd for all things retro, not sure if it applies)
Bonus Points: Nerdy (see above)
Project Name: Attack of the Bridal Shower Gift from the Black Lagoon!
Project Page Link (if available): n/a
Brief Description:
I went to a Bridal Shower yesterday.
There was a Rolling Pin on her registry, I couldn't resist making a cozy for it.
But, then you've gotta have a little kitchen towel to match! Every good little housewife knows this!

This is where HORROR comes in.
The bride never saw herself married and becoming a happy homemaker was her worst nightmare.
As a proud happy homemaker, I thought I'd sew up some snarky fun for her traditional gift she herself had registered for.
heh heh...

Project Picture:

The HORROR! Look away!

The bag isn't part of this challenge. Just the Rolling Pin Cozy and "That's How I Roll" Kitchen Towel.

Calabaza - What a cute bag!  I really like how you can move the straps around.  Great idea!

SpeakGeekAndEnter - I love those bangles!  Now I'm curious about mica powder, too.  These games are proving great for my creativity, but bad for "supplies I NEEEEED" list. Grin  Yay team!

silentblair - Oh, the horror!  I used to be like your friend, so I totally get it.  Your gifts are awesome!

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Randomizer
Team/Ninja: Of Ships and Men
Project Geekdom (if any): Retro
Bonus Points: Nerdy, Giver
Project Name: Pillow(Talk)Case Bags
Project Page Link (if available):n/a
Brief Description:
These bags are in my brain. Made from Pillowcases, I can basically do them in my sleep now. I'm donating this batch (amongst other things  Wink) to Bunny1Kenobi's cousin's silent auction and they are packed up to be sent out this week!

Project Picture:
I made a bunch of these a while ago, but the great thing about Pillowcases is they come in pairs.
I had a whole STACK I could make for the auction, YAY!

They are a slouchy bag, so here's a close up that you might better see the shape.

I just love the movie "Pillow Talk". I think Doris Day is my Patronus!

and the architectural tree/roots....

the corset bag...such a cute idea...would love one to hold my stockings...

almost forgot the Dr. Who badge and magnet (I love the actress who plays his wife!)...
