Thanks for al the support you guys. My mother came over to my place yesterday and we tackled my house too. I'll be inheriting my grandmother's sewing machine and some of her crafting gear. Depending on the fabric materials, I might also make my first quilt from her floral nightgowns (she had so many!) but according to my aunts, it might be too synthetic... But that's something for after the funeral.

@SpeakGeekAndEnter: I wouldn't worry about it not being the neatest of crafts you've ever made. River Song's diary is a bit dingy anyway, and it wouldn't look very real if it was in pristine condition. I really, really love that necklace!

Ahhh (((hugs))) Naantje. That was a beautiful idea.

Too synthetic? You make that quilt if you are moved to.

Awesome Tardis necklace!!!

Love that necklace SpeakGeekandEnter. I have making one of those tiny books on my notebook long To-Do list. Very clever to turn it into a Tardis!

I agree!  I have plenty of quilts made from synthetics and they are just fine!  In fact, that might make a great research project.... Wink

Project Name: multimedia - blue
Team/Geekdom: Team Monster
Project Geekdom (if any): Yeti Necklace
Bonus Points: include which bonus points you think you've earned: Nerdy Super Bonus (Monster)
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I was stuck baby sitting the other day and decided to bring out my Sculpy to entertain the girls. We decided to make necklaces. I love Yeti's so I tried to make a cute yeti necklace. I went for blue for the multimedia challenge. At first I thought, heck yeah, red all the way. I can handle the cold hard truth. Then I thought about all the time I spend with my head stuck in a book - a nice little fantasy world - and I knew I would choose the BLUE pill!  Grin

Aww, thanks for all the love, guys.  Kiss I was a little nervous about posting it because it's quite the departure from what I normally do -- hopefully the Nerd Games will continue to have that effect. Wink

Hee, that is a good point! River and that journal of hers do tend to get around, it's no wonder it's a little dinged up. Wink

Also, I'm really sorry to hear about your -and your family's- loss. I know nothing of quilting nor the fabrics that one uses, but personally I think making a quilt from those nightgowns would be a lovely thing to do.

Gozer, that yeti is adorable!
