Brief Description: It is a bookmark I am experimenting with paper crafting. I used to much glue. It might not be my thing.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June- Multimedia: Disco

Team/Ninja: Ninja
Project Geekdom (if any): Discworld
Bonus Points: Discovery: A new technique or material.
Project Name: blue lanterns
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I wanted some blue lantners for my porch but they are expensive so I made these with  modpoge and teal food coloring from cheaper clear ones. They make really cool light patterns on the ceiling which you can only kinda see in the photo. I had never used this method before. If you are patient you can pop all the bubbles but I liked the effect of the bubbles on the light so I made more.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: Battle Royale: Romance
Team/Ninja: Team Fantasy
Project Geekdom: Fantasy (it's for my steampunk, fairytale wedding!)
Bonus Points: Nerdy, Supernerdy
Project Name: Wedding ring frame
Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=425030.new#new
Brief Description:
When I read that this month's battle was horror versus romance, I got just the kick I needed to finally craft the ring carrier I had been planning for our wedding for many months now. We got this little frame from a friend, the glass was broken, but she figured we would still be able to use it for something and it really fits our steampunk aesthetic. She was right! I paired it up with fabric and lace from a fashion corset I adored, but the plastic boning bent totally out of shape, and the corset had gotten too small. Since my boyfriend loved that look on me and I wore the corset so often, it seemed fitting to incorporate it into our wedding. The ribbon comes from a different blouse which my mother recently adapted to fit me better, so this is a fully recycled piece! I hope you agree with the nerdy/supernerdy bonusses, it realy is for our fairytale steampunk wedding, and I remember being told steampunk fits under fantasy too.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: May Multimedia - Blue
Team/Ninja: Team Control Freaks
Project Geekdom (if any): n/a
Bonus Points: Discovery
Project Name: owl painting
Brief Description: I got a Groupon for a few painting classes. I went to my first one today. I am hoping this will help me break out of my shell a little. This is the first time I have ever painted anything without tracing an outline first. It turned out pretty good overall. I just wish I had done more blending on the canvas so the colors flowed better.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Battle - Horror
Team/Ninja: Team Control Freaks
Project Geekdom (if any): Cult Classics, B Movies, Video Games
Bonus Points: Discovery, Nerdy, Super Nerdy
Project Name: Evil Dead painting
Brief Description:
I knew right away with this month's battle that I wanted to do something horror related. With the new Evil Dead movie that came out this year and the promise of another Army of Darkness, it seemed only fitting to paint Ash. I first watched Evil Dead with my mom in the summer of 1998, I was 15. It's funny the things you remember about your younger years. I remember so many details of that day but I couldn't tell you who I watched Army of Darkness with the first time.
This was my first time painting on black canvas. I found the image in a Google search and liked the water color effect. I use acrylics so I watered down some red and smudged it over the painting to give it a similar effect.
In addition to being a movie series there have also been Evil Dead video games released.
