So many kind and generous crafters have jumped on board to help my cousin!  You guys make me so happy!  I  get all emotional and teary eyed every time one of you tells me you are helping!  Omigosh, this group of people makes me proud to be a crafter!  Thank you, silentblair, and everyone else who is pitching in. If my arms were long enough, I'd hug the lot of you!!

And Blair, those bags are so freaking cute!  They will be a hit, I have no doubt!  Grin

lovelymiss--did you like the yarn you used?  I love the chenille yarns but they are nearly impossible to frog if you make a boo-boo...Grin

My only complaint is that it sheds more than I expected, but it's very soft and easy to knit.  I had only made doll clothes with it before so I didn't know how it would work for a blanket...it is a little hard to frog, but not bad compared to similar styles I've used in the past.  I plan to use it again.  Smiley

Of course!  I can't wait to see all the different patches going on in here.  Wink

I'm definitely challenging myself with this project.  I already want to throw it back into the depths of the closet and forget it for another few years!  I know I'll love it when it's done though...

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Wordy: little nerdlings
Team/Ninja: Team Monster
Project Geekdom (if any): amigurumi
Bonus Points: nerdy
Project Name: Amigurumi Elephant
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: One of my all time favorite chilhood books was "But No Elephants." (Here's a link to an adorably read version on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h2STlj5yyE) I made it pink because I wanted to use stash yarn & this was somehow calling to me.  I chose amigurumi as my geekdom, because I am seriously addicted to making, swapping, and gifting them.  In the past year I've made anywhere from 2-4 amigurumi per month!

Project Picture:
I prefer it with the ears flat as it reminds me more of a baby elephant that way. Smiley

I am wondering what the secret to such tight crocheting is...I normally do not like those little crochet creatures, but after making a Totoro for a friend's grandbaby, I kinda like making them now...I just wish I could make those stitches nice and tight like I see on here... Sad

Cute baby elephant...love his tiny (for an elephant!) ears...!

It seems like I am always playing "ketchup Monday" on here. So, let me catch up...
bobbysgirl- Your zombie poppet is adorable. But sometimes the most adorable kid can be the creepiest so awesome job. And Rick? Hmmm. Is that the guy who stands near my Darryl? Sorry. I go blind to anyone else. LOL! Cool needle book!
patty-o-furniture - Those bath salts would make amazing Christmas gifts. I like the way you pacakged them up. And cute bows, cuter daughter.  Wink
LovelyMiss - Holy Cow that a lot of beads! And I love the color of the blanket. It looks so cozy!
plaidpineapple - Beautiful cup. Very impressive!
LightningLisa - Love that Lumpy Space Princess. She is too cute!
smileyyogini - Love the horns on that helmet!
La Chapa - I have a soft spot for Pinhead. I adore your little guy. The elephant is adorable too! Great job and GO TEAM MONSTER!!!
pinkleo - the bouncy bulb bag is great. All these crochet projects are making me want to learn!
stickerchic87 - Cute supscaled jean coasters. I like the design you did. Wonderful clutch. And I love that Ballerina MAQ. The colors are so romantic! What does MAQ stand for? I think it's amazing!
Eiseldora - buttons and magnets, what fun projects. I am always in need of fridge magents!
Ludi- AMAZING diorama. Yuo don't even have to know the story to know that piece is incredible!
Calabaza - Kudos on the boning! I thought about attempting that a while back but chickened out. Cool purse.
SpeakGeekAndEnter - Amazing bracelet. I love all the detail! The feather is my favorite part.
SilentBlair - Kitchen towel is funny and those pillowcase bags are wonderful. And what a great cause to give too!

Whoa! It's fast and furious over here. I love it! Thought I'd sneak in and contribute to my team.
Challenge: May/Multimedia
Team: TWMNBN
Project Geekdom (if any): Harry Potter
Bonus Points: Nerdy, Declared Geekdom (need to re-read about points)
Project Name: Ravenclaw Blue Hand-dyed Yarn
Project Page Link (if available):Dyeing yarn with Wilton Icing Gel
Brief Description: A jar of leaky Wilton icing gel lead me to dyeing some wool I had lying around. Actually, it wasn't lying around. It was crammed in a stash container with several other skeins of yarn...well, anyway, I decided to use the gel to make lovely yarn in shades of Ravenclaw blue. Instead of using the crockpot, which is what I should do since I've never use it, I chose to go stove-top for my project. Turned out pretty well. Now, what to make?

Love the little elephant La Chapa, and thank you for sharing your favorite childhood book.  That sounded like it was read by a real Grandma.  Smiley
