Challenge: Randomizer..I reused a thrifted wool sweater to make longies (cloth diaper covering pants)
Team: Control Freaks
Project Geekdom: Sewing
Bonus Points: Discovery...as is evidenced by the outcome of the project. This was my first time making an applique or longies.
Project Name: Fox Appliqued Longies
Brief Description: I thrifted a charcoal grey sweater, I used the sleeves for the legs of the pants and then the edge of the sweater for the waistband. I formed a loop of the waistband so that you can run a drawstring to make them adjustable. Then I hand-drew the fox, cut it up and traced the different shapes onto red and white cottong fabric. Old shirts. I sewed them all together and formed the applique and then sewed that on to the toosh of the pants.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: May Battle-PIRATE
Team/Ninja: Of Ships and Men
Project Geekdom (if any): Pirates of the Caribbean!
Bonus Points: Super Nerdy and Discovery
Project Name: Capt Jack Sparrow Crochet
Project Page Link (if available): n/a

Brief Description: This naughty pirate represents something I've NEVER tried before. I've never created a whole crocheted doll out of my head! No pattern, not even bits and pieces spliced together Frankenstein-style...Just inspiration pictures. Oh and what a hardship that was to stare at Mr. Depp's most swashbuckling fantastic-ness!

Project Picture:
Here he is on the only ship he could scrounge up at Tortuga.
I opted for no facial hair as he was going to my son...Capt Jack is Will's fave character in the Wii game "Disney Universe" and that version doesn't sport the whiskers. Throughout working on this doll (action figure?  Wink) Will would pull out the game box to make comparisons.

My pattern notes (in case I want to recreate the magic)

And lastly:
Here is, dare I say it, his BOOTY!

lurv2knit - wooohoo roller coasters!! I actually went on my very fist roller coaster ever at King's Island (I feel like it was Aztec themed and probably not even there anymore), and have been a coaster-lover ever since!

I know! I was in 7th grade when I went on Beast (I went big, I know) and that coaster's Adventure Express (with the tikis at the end that moved their arms) and it's still there Smiley

Yes!! That's it! And Beast is a great coaster for sure!

Ludi, you are rocking this craftalong. Joining those who love your posts!

smileyyogini - Ah! Kaylee is super cute!

silentblair - AMAZING! I'm loving his pose in the first pic - so full of personality!
