Awesome bracelets, Bobbysgirl!! Perfect post and wonderful haiku, too! Go Team Dystopia!!  Grin

lurv2knit - wooohoo roller coasters!! I actually went on my very fist roller coaster ever at King's Island (I feel like it was Aztec themed and probably not even there anymore), and have been a coaster-lover ever since!

Eiseldora - your skirt looks lovely!

Eiseldora--what a pretty skirt!  Did you just happen to have that perfectly matching top? Grin

I did. I stenciled it for the Harry Potter Craft along challenge last summer using bleach.

My printed fabric arrived with my partners, so I wanted to post the last of my prompts

Challenge: May Multimedia
Team: Ships and Men
Project Geekdom: Doctor Who
Bonus Points:  Super Nerdy!, Discovery
Project Name: Doctor Who Screen Print
Project Page Link:
Brief Description:
As a fan of Doctor Who and the man who flies around the universe in his blue ship I decided to try my hand at screenprinting. I already had some stencils from this popular BBC show. I purchased a screen and some Blue Speedball fabric ink. I then layed out my stencils on the fabric and created a sort of negative image. This was my first screenprinting attempt.

Challenge:Textbook
Team: Ships and Men
Project Geekdom: Steamboat Willie
Bonus Points:Super Nerdy! Discovery
Project Name: 41 Heads
Project Page Link:
Brief Description:
My DH took an art class as a requirement for his computer science degree. They studied animations and other ways that art has married technology.
Did you know one of of the first animations was of a steamboat driver? This animation has been preserved in the National Film Registry, and been voted one of the 50 greatest cartoons.

To honor the man that drove this steamboat in this cartoon I practiced my newly aquired technique: Screen printing. I'd only created the negative images for Doctor Who before. This time I made my own stencil that would allow the ink to come through in just the area I wanted. For the first time I repeated this pattern on a yard of fabric moving the screen and stencil around the fabric to cover it with 41 images, making a prime number of the pattern.

lurv2knit--what are your bracelets made of?  they are lovely...I am also a roller coaster rider!  My home park is Hershey with 12 roller coasters! Cheesy  Give me an old-fashioned wooden roller coaster anytime...although I love the ones with your feet dangling! Cheesy

They are that friendship thread that you can get at Walmart - the metallic came from there too. Have you been to Kings Island and rode Beast? Awesome coaster Cheesy

I know! I was in 7th grade when I went on Beast (I went big, I know) and that coaster's Adventure Express (with the tikis at the end that moved their arms) and it's still there Smiley
