Naantje, I sent you a PM of why.

PLAYER NOTICE ON ANNIVERSARY CHALLENGE:

Hi everyone! Grin  Two things:  First, and foremost, entries cannot be posted anywhere on Craftster until August 7th, according to the Craftster challenge rules. (I double checked this because I was a bit confused with their wording).  If you post beforehand, then it could be disqualified. To prevent I will delete early submissions from the Nerd Games. (I don't want to take the chance of you being disqualified, especially since they keep getting these fab, new prize packages!). You can resubmit it once the challenge submissions are open.  (I will PM you a quote so that you don't have to recraft your words)    Two, part of the challenge is to link your entry with your turn-in; it was created to encourage the fabulous crafters in the Nerd Games to show off their amazing talents in the Anniversary Challenge. (And believe me, you guys are AMAZING!) Grin

Challenge: May Fandom
Team: Nerdy Ladies
Project Geekdom: None
Bonus Points: None
Project Name: Finally Finished the Flamingos!
Brief Description: I brought a cross-stitch kit to do on my honeymoon in 2009 but when I opened it, all it contained was a colour guide >_< Over four years later, I used some stash items to start it, and now it's finally done! And it only took four months! ~_^

Challenge: August Multimedia
Team: Nerdy Ladies
Project Geekdom: Monsters? Maybe?
Bonus Points: None
Project Name: Slighty invisible friend
Brief Description: I have quite a few favourite Muppets, but for this project I chose Snuffleupagus. I've always liked his giant eyelashes and how cuddly he looks ^_^ I spent an evening stitching dozens and dozens of hairs using one strand of DMC to create a slightly invisible tribute to this big, happy ... uhhh ... what *is* Snuffy exactly?

Challenge:  August Randomizer
Team: Nerdy Ladies
Project Geekdom: Star Wars
Bonus Points: None
Project Name: Bless This Mess (Death Star)
Brief Description: I made this little cross-stitch today for my nerdy husband who is a big Star Wars fan ^_^ He really liked it, yay!

@jennieingram - I love your HP charm bracelet!
@stickerchic87 - Your little house shadowbox is such a good idea! I love to keep old keys, it would be good to get some use out of them!
@ludi - You sculpture is amazing, and I love the spooky moon felted squares - especially the one with the eye!
@alwaysinmyroom - Great WW apron! I have one too, but mine isn't as cool because I didn't make it!
@stefaniegk - What a clever idea! I love how your crochet hook quiver looks!
@abbeeroad - Love the stamp! Very cute!
@craftADDchick - Great shadowboxes! I really love this idea, I may just have to make my own version now! ^_^

Thanks, Smeddley and lightninglisa!

And, lightninglisa, I love your Death Star and Snuffleupagus pieces. I think the Snuffy piece is my favorite- I was always a bit sad that nobody believed Big Bird but, at the same time, equally sad when they made him visible to everyone else. Invisible friends just evoke the innocence of childhood, and when they took that away from Big Bird, it seems like they forced him to grow up a little bit.
