Elsie Ostrich is my latest feltie creation.  She's handsewn from felt squares & stuffed with polyfil.  While she's not as steady on her feet as I'd hoped, she'll be hanging on the Christmas tree, so I guess it will be OK.   She's about 8 inches high with bamboo skewers in her neck & legs to keep them firm.  I've used real feathers for her tail, collar & wing tips.   the legs & wings are sewn separately & tacked into place.

Err... emm... I really like it, you did a great job - but you ARE aware you made yourself a MALE ostrich? The hens are a plain dirty brown without the fluffy feathers.
So, now do I say I like HIM or do I say I like HER crossdressing?

Oops!  I didn't give that part a thought when I chose a name.  I'll re-christan him Eldred so he'll feel better.  Thanks for calling it to my attention.
