so back in 2010, I had the great idea to organize an OTT swap titled OTVGT (One Tiny Video Game Thing).  my partner achgfd, like me, is a fan of the Silent Hill series (namely Silent Hill 2 and 3).  she also loves the main antagonist of Silent Hill 2, Pyramid Head.  so, I got the idea in my head that she needed a cross stitched picture of PH.  but I ran into the issue of what frame to use for it.  a wooden frame wouldn't really look good, a silver or gold frame would be horrible, and a black frame would be just awful.  then I had an idea.  see if you can figure out what I used to cover an ordinary frame:

give up?  it's tissue paper dyed in tea.  it gives the frame this awesome aged look that fits in perfectly with the world of Silent Hill.  I even tea dyed the Aida cloth PH is stitched on!  it's a small frame, a 2x3 maybe?  about ATC sized.  I covered the frame in mod podge, a few layers of the dyed tissue paper, more mod podge, then a clear sealant.  I was just so happy with how he turned out.  Grin

thank you.  Grin  if you couldn't tell, Silent Hill is very inspiring when it comes to aged, dingy things.  Wink
