If we are voting, I would vote for having the ability to turn it off. Extra pictures and stuff to scroll through is pretty obnoxious when I am trying to check in quickly from my extremely slow phone.

There will probably only be pictures when you are on a completed projects board. This thread, for example, lives on News and Discussion, so there aren't pictures to show on most of these threads.
Oh! Yes! That makes sense!!!!

but that's not the only time pictures don't show up.  I brought this issue up in another thread that hasn't really got any answers, other than I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

I'm not sure I've seen that other thread. Can you link me?

Obviously the new do-dad is effective otherwise I can't explain why I'm being bombarded with "replies to your posts" thing.

since there is no phone version of the site, this is another great reason to have the option to turn it off.  my iPod gets overloaded with all the pictures it has to load on any site.

Case in point, sometimes the internet up here gets sloth-like.  Particularly during bad weather or later in the evenings during the winter.  Peak times I tend to be on the internet too.
It isn't fun when things have too many photos and all you want to do is reply to a non-photo-based thread.

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

It would be nice to be able to stop a particular thread because you have already seen it a few times...sort of like how you can ignore replies that you are no longer interested in...

Other than that, I really like to see things I might have missed...and, I can choose to click on them or not depending on my mood and how much time I have...good job adding another fun feature, in my opinion! Cheesy

Plus not a lot of the so called related topics are even that related.

It's currently only pulling topics from the same category as the viewed thread.  We're working to have it pull similarly-tagged threads, but this will take some time to implement.

It should now be pulling by tags! If there are no tags or you feel a thread is missing one, feel free to add it! This feature will update instantly. Smiley

I defiantly do not like it either.  I understand how it might interest some people, but I just find it annoying.  Though I must say I have disliked similar things on other sites as well so it may be a general dislike kind of thing for me, but it seems like I keep being shown the same things over and over even if it is pulling from tags.
