But... I don't like other websites. I like C-ster. I can see how it would be nice, but maybe if the Quick Reply was above it? It just makes it more cluttered. I know we're all crafty ladies and we all have tons of clutter (supplies hoarding anyone?) but our online haven shouldn't be cluttered, too, right?

Same here!  I use that FB Social Fixer thing so that site can't keep suggesting junk I don't want to me, and I don't even look at Pinterest unless it is the weekend since I don't have time to get lost in such a mire of information.

Honestly, I do NOT like things that distract me.  I really don't have a lot of internet time anymore and have nearly stopped using other websites because they are too distracting and a PITA when it comes to using them.  I like finding new things, but it takes away from the time I can spend interacting with people here.  I come here for the social aspect as well as the inspiration and information.  You don't GET that on other webpages that are more photo-centric.

I have to admit, the extra scrolling prior to the quick reply, or if I use the End key to get to the bottom in order to re-read the last couple of posts is really starting to get on my nerves.  It would be really cool if Quick Reply was above it.  Then it would be less of a nuisance.

Plus not a lot of the so called related topics are even that related.  Or it is stuff I have seen all ready.  It's really distracting, and I seriously don't have the time normally to get off on a bunch of little rabbit trails.  Sad

Again, it would be great to have the choice of disabling it if you are an FOC or FFOC, like the ads.

ETA:
If you use a certain Firefox add on, you can make it vanish.  Wink

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

It took me a couple hours to get adjusted to it but now I like it! Great to see threads I might have otherwise missed.

DO NOT WANT.

as others have said, it's too distracting.  and it's like the suggestions on Facebook, which I also don't like.

one other thing; maybe I'm just too tired to see it, but where on earth is this "quick reply" thing people speak of?!

It's a feature that can be turned on or off - go to your profile, on the left hand side, click on the 'Look and Layout Preferences', in the list you will see 'Use quick reply on topic display'.  If you have that set to display then you will get a box at the bottom of each thread where you can reply to the topic without using the reply button.

Plus not a lot of the so called related topics are even that related.

It's currently only pulling topics from the same category as the viewed thread.  We're working to have it pull similarly-tagged threads, but this will take some time to implement.

I haven't minded this so far.  I have only been on craftster on my phone lately, so I don't know if it might be more distracting on a computer... But it's led me to some threads I may not have found otherwise.  Yes, it might get me off track, but so does the internet in general... As far as reply-all, it doesn't get in the way for me. (In fact, I think it might be trickier if "reply all" was above it, because then I would keep scrolling past it!)

The first time I saw the "Threads you might like" I was thrown for a bit. But now, I see it as a fun way to explore other posts that I might not have seen. A long time ago, I had asked if Craftster had a "Random" button so we could be brought to random threads on the site, but the closest thing was the tag cloud, so this is a little bit like that. If I see something that interests me, I just open it in a new tab, then continue with my quick reply (so I don't get side-tracked), and then I can check out the suggested item.

As long as it only suggests places within Craftster, I don't mind it so far!

I love it. I've already seen a few things I might have overlooked. I got used to the tiny extra scrolling really fast, but I am on a ton. All changes feel weird at first but in a few days you forget they were ever not there. Smiley

I love it!  I found it a little weird at first, but I think it's a great idea and hope it stays.

Just another way to feed my Craftster addicted lurking pleasure monster.  Grin
