My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a boy in a few weeks, so my mom and I decided to make them a quilt. We went with an "under the sea" theme.

The plan was to share the load - I would piece the top and then my mom would quilt it and do the binding. Except she panicked at the idea of not being able to do straight-line quilting (she's a novice quilter) and made me do the quilting instead.

So here's the quilted quilt, missing the binding (she's still going to do that Cheesy).

And some close-ups of the different sections (sorry for the blurry crab, I was taking the picture with my cell phone and the screen is shot so I can't tell when I take pictures if they're not in focus).

I love how colourful it is with all the different creatures.  I'm sure the baby will love it.
