What is a good beginners crochet project/ pattren?
 I only know chain,crochet one and double crochet I tried and failed miserably to do a granny square so I may need something more simple then that.

I think a basic scarf in double crochet would be a great first project! Chain it as wide as you would like it to be and then start double double crocheting back and forth until it's as long as you like.

Making hot pads or trivets would be a good one to practice single crochet.
