Buried in Beads!

Beaded green dragonfly!  Mostly Delica size 11's peyote stitch wings, peyote wrap on the body large bead.  Crystal beads for tail and eyes.

Inspired during the hunt for inspiration for the Beltane All Around the May Pole swap.  Based off the pattern for the one on this blog:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zZ9sSDwBL_k/TA-pk9d0K1I/AAAAAAAAAUI/pAcf9zbbx4Q/s1600/beaded-dragonfly.jpg
Purple one is NOT mine.  It's the picture that made me really want to make a little beaded dragonfly.

However, Fairbanks is seriously devoid of most crystal beads and what not at the moment.
I didn't end up having enough time to make this one for my swap partner, and I like dragonflies, so I ended up making one for kicks.

It would have been way faster if I didn't have to wrap the body bead.  I've never actually done a free form wrap on an odd shaped item before, so it was a learning experience; particularly since the bead was small, smooth and hard to hold on to.  It came out fairly well.

The instructions were actually fairly decent once I got used to them, but they are in Korean I think.  Thank goodness for fantastic illustrations.

Next I really want to make a blue one.

Thank you!  Eventually I'll finish the blue one I started, the body bead wasn't cooperating, so I had to find another.
