Jewelry Holder (refabbed old cork message board)

This was a yucky, cat-scratched cork message board that was sitting around at MILs house so I decided to refab it using patterned fabric (MIL's choice), paint and clear push pins.

I took the cork out of the frame, wrapped the fabric and hot glued the back.  I painted the frame 3 different colored and sanded for a shabby look.  Then I just popped the fabric covered cork, added the push pins and there ya go! 

The bracelet holder is a refabbed tie rack from a thrift store.  First I spray painted off-white and then spray a dark blue crackle over the top. 

I have another cork board just waiting for a re-do for *my* jewelry!

AWESOME! How did you take out the cork from the board before wrapping w/ fabric? Was it hard to get out?

It actually just popped out of the back and slipped right back in the frame.  I have another one that looks like its *not* coming off at all, so I plan to just cut the fabric to size and adhere to the edges of the frame.

I *wish* that was my jewelry collection...it belongs to my mother in law.  There are a lot more "winter" items that she has put away and I need to make a matching earring holder now.  You should see her scarf collection, too!

that is fantastic!!! I think Im gonna try to make one, to put my button badges on & one for my jewelllery,  and take to craft fairs and stuff. I love it, good work!!

Hey I have like five of the exact same bracelets as you have! woo hoo. Beautiful job, I'm inspired to try something like that myself, seeing as all MY necklaces are haning off the top corner of my mirror and my braclets are crammed into this little wooden box. Great work..
