Lovely piece! Clusters of french knots have such a striking effect. Out of curiosity, how was it working on a piece with only one stitch? Does it get boring to do french knots over and over again?

Well... Because i haven't done that many French knots before they are still enough of a challenge to keep me thinking. Combined with trying to get even colour placement between so many shades, and because the piece wasn't too big, it was ok - actually watching the texture build was fun  Grin

This is absolutely gorgeous!  I'm new to embroidery and after I get a hang of the basic stitches you have inspired me to learn this one next!

French knots are pretty easy - though I have to say I didn't find any of the written tutorials I've seen very useful (even one's with pictures) - but I did a youtube search and found a video - I think just seeing the whole action was what I needed. So if you get a bot bamboozled try that!
