Howdy, I'm from York but currently at uni in rainy Thornaby/Stockton-on-tees! There are some great places to get fabric here, which completely offsets that theres not much to do otherwise but go to lectures and drink.

I'm from the US but am going to be living in Hartlepool from Feb. to the end of May. I know no one here but my boyfriend so I'd love to find some Stitch n' Bitch type things in the area to meet some crafty kids.

We've just started a knitting group in Durham. We meet at 3.00 p.m. every Wednesday during term time in Riverside Caf, Level C, Dunelm House (Student Union building), New Elvet, Durham, DH1 3AN. All welcome - we have plenty of people who aren't. But we plan to have other events, so to join the mailing list write to Anna at a.e.fisk@durham.ac.uk or knitting.society@durham.ac.uk. Website is www.durham.ac.uk/knitting.society but it doesn't have anything on yet, will very soon. We're keen to have links with other local groups so do get in touch!

Cheers,

Anna

Congrats on setting up a knitting society!  Hardly anybody wants to know about knitting round here.. including the arts and crafts society.
