So....
I am really new to quilting. I taught myself how to quilt ( at least on a sewing machine) last weekend.
I found some great graph paper on-line that I use to draw up my designs. I used a hexagon graph paper and worked up my pattern but now I am not sure how to cut the hexagons from the fabric.

any suggestions?

thanks  Smiley

Are you English paper piecing? With paper templates I cut squares of fabric, pin to my paper template, and then roughly cut around them (I do slightly larger than a 1/4 inch seam allowance when I do this because it's so hard to stitch if it's smaller)

Otherwise, I would probably just trace the template on with a pencil or water soluble marker and cut out. If you are doing a ton of them you might stagger them so you can cut straight lines with your rotary cutter.
