I'm gonna do it! Just sent in my questionnaire! I'd been eyeing this one for a while, since I really need stitch markers. I was gonna wait on doing another swap, but the one I'm in got boring since everyone's struggling to get things sent.

Now, to ponder craft materials that could be made into stitch markers...  Wink

Hi. I have been knitting for a few years now, and just learned to crochet.

I normally use the stitch markers that you can buy from JoAnns. The circle plastic round ones.

I actually use them alot while I'm working on complicated patterns.

I also use it when knitting in the round to help me tell what side is the front, or when I need to make a decrease.

I've little experience making stitch markers. But a friend threaded beads on a safety pin and it made a cool way to mark her knitting.

I hope these will be acceptable.

I've definitely used safety pins!  They're especially good for crochet, since you can also mark a few rows down AND I've used them knitting when you have to slip off and hold just a few stitches (like for amigurumi, tentacled monsters and stuff - the actual stitch holders are just too big).

I talked to a friend that does jewelry and she said she'd help me figure out how to do some wire work and maybe make even better stitch markers.

Does that mean that we can get early partnering?

I have also been pondering what and how.  I am thinking polymer clay or resin clay.  Or beads.  Or chainmaille.  But I need to see my partners preferences...
