I love seeing how the Drs. change...and the special effects...ha ha --the first Daleks are so lame...my favorite Doctor is the fourth because it was what I watched while doing my Masters in college...Grin  Many many long nights of studying and Dr. Who...not necessarily in that order... Cheesy

I almost have the Second Doctor done as well...

I finished my hoop over the weekend and am happy to post it along with all the other gorgeous works!  I love what everyone has come up with but I must say the Bat is my favorite!!!!

I chose to do a Sugar Skull since I love them.  I got this pattern from Urban Threads and it has been waiting to be stitched up for quite a while now.  I chose this particular pattern because along with the Dia De Los Muertos theme it also has birds which I love!

I learned the chain stitch for this project and also used a back stitch and a bit of satin stitching.

I am in the club of hates french knots since I have only successfully done them once and have never been able to again.  Maybe if I pick a project that is full of them I will finally get it down.

I can't wait for next months theme!

It can be any size ya want. The only restriction is the theme and that can be interpreted in a million different ways.  Smiley

Thanks for all the nice words guys *blush*

I love what everyone has done so far. I showed my oldest the gnome and he said that my hoop would have been cooler if i had done that one instead... gotta love kids!

I don't know how I managed to miss this craft-along thread, but it is just what I have been looking for!

I have never made a hoopla but I have one very lonely one on my wall which I have been thinking needed some company. I didn't sew the hoolpa, I simply framed it - friend for my mums was clearing out her late mothers sewing things and found a very old & stained piece of circular flowery embroidery. Mum was going to throw it out but I took it, washed & bleached it very carefully and found the perfect hoop for it to go in. (I'll post a pic later when I can)

Think I will tag along with this thread and maybe get to make some hoopla's of my own - might help me dust of my embroidery skills  Grin
