A hoopla along would be less scary for newbies like me who want to try something new.

Oh, and I'm for doing some selfish stitching (I never seem to make myself something).

I'm in this same mode...
I would be up for this!

YES! I never keep any of the hoops I make - they are all for swaps!  I have this fabulous hoopla wall - thanks to all of you talented stitchers - but when people ask which ones I did, I am just like...um....well...none (actually 1 but it's not a great one).

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

I found hoops at Joann's but also Amazon. Our local fabric store, Fabric Depot has them too.

I'm so glad that there is so much interest!

Craft stores mainly, but I have gotten big bags of them cheap at the thrift store.

I should do this. I've been going through my stash and trying to organize. And while doing this I realized I have a ton of embroidery thread. Way more than I thought I had.
