I haven't been to chatty lately, and for that I apologize.
Everyone's hoops are looking FANTASTIC!

In addition to extending my apologies for non-chatty-ness, I must also apologize for my hoop this month is not hand stitched.

I did "free motion embroidery" and fabric marker as my dumb thumb is still to lay off the needles for a few more weeks.
Grrrr.

Here is my "Shiny" Hoop!

Ever since I first saw the show "Firefly" this has been a catchall word around my house.
Also, the theme of "When it Rains, it Pours" has popped up in my life A LOT this year.
So I suppose I might be inadvertently doing 2 phrases...SHINY!

And a close-up of the free motion embroidery:

So much fun, it's like painting with your sewing machine!

The image was done with permission by the AMAZING artist Karen Hallion.
I'm sure most of you have seen her amazingness on pinterest here and there.

Please check out her website!

oh no!  You might have just introduced me to a new way to embroider!

I love the free-motion embroidery...oh no... Grin

Very nice...and probably a lot more friendly to our injured hands!  is yours getting better?  Mine feels better but I still have to lay off any knitting and crocheting for a few more weeks (like 4!--ugh!)

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

The Tick! Awesome! SPOOOOON!

I am almost finished too.

I was so close in stitching "Gravity...is a harsh mistress". Instead, I worked up this lovely lady with a quote that is just as true:

What great hoop, silentblaire!!!! Your stitches are fantastic!

Thanks for the love on the Kaylee Hoop!
The picture doesn't do the actual Hoop Justice. It's almost the pale blue of her Jacket she wears in that scene. So pretty!

It's quite addicting. The big key is...Sew-In Stabilizer and drop your feed dogs! Otherwise, it's a matter of getting your groove/rhythm going once you start.

My thumb has been feeling just great! How's yours?
The only weirdness with it is it twitches on the rare occasion. Mainly just an annoyance.
Even though the digit feels fine and dandy, I'm still laying off anything needle-related until August 1st. I don't want to go back to square 1. EEK!

I don't think it would be an exaggeration to tell you I'm REALLLLLLY excited for the August Prompt for this!
I, dare I say it, have IDLE HANDS!!!!
