This is my first posting! I decided to take up sewing a year ago and have thus far had some good outcomes and some not so good outcomes. I am teaching myself - which sucks big time - and never really know what I am doing. I invested in a brother sewing machine, a pretty cheap model and because of it part of my seams are sometimes crooked when the rest of it is completely dead on.
That being said, I found a pattern online for free for a purse, it was so pretty I had to give it a shot. It took me a solid week to do my first one and it turned out nice, I totally fudged up on the stabilizer though because the directions were not that clear. I made a second one for my Grandma who liked mine so well, and fudged up a bit more - seams weren't as straight, stabilizer once again was a nightmare, lining was a bit to big - but it is sturdy, pretty, and I am still pretty proud of it. I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but there are two dividers in there - one with a zipper, and one with a pouch.

I think they turned out nicely! Can't believe they are your first and second purses!  I love the fabrics...
