Yay, this craftalong is perfect for my garden bench! I took it apart before we moved (it was too big to move in one piece) and it has really suffered under the weather. I've repainted the metal parts in hammered silver, but I still need to sand down all the slats, stain them with green weatherproofing stain and go out to buy new screws to replace the rusted ones. Spring is finally starting, so I need something to sit on in the garden!

I am going to keep an eye on this one. As I am currently looking for a 2nd hand book case to do up for my craft room. Atm every bit of our furniture is Ikea. Which I don't like as I love repurposed furniture and I am not a fan of the flat pack.

Sorry for the rant

deathbeforedishes- I agree with pinokeeo. The metal would be super cute painted and it looks like there should be enough fabric left to get a pattern of sorts for the seat. I like Rustoleum Painter's Touch for spray paint. It seems to cover the best on metal with the smoothest finish.

bookstorebabe- If you didn't want to patch the seat with leather, you could just handsew it shut.

racky- can't wait to see what you paint that table. My hubby tells me stuff is junk all the time. I don't listen. Wink

So, my inspiration "I can do this" piece is a wingback chair my mother and I reupholstered years ago:

(my LV is there, she's going to help me out this summer!)

And the two pieces that are up next (the rest are in the attic...) - a rocking chair and a small couch, both kinda started...

Just a little inspiration for you all.  This wasn't a total redo, but we acquired an old (1963) travel trailer that was in horrible condition.  This was part of our redo for the upholstery.  The first photo shows it just like we received it, and the second photo shows the cushions redone in a new upholstery fabric, and all the woodwork reworked.

Inspiration without application is moot.

Smeddley--it is nice that you will have a helper for all of those re-dos! Cheesy

What type of paint are you using on the rocker?

pinokeeo--what a lot of work, but so worth it...are you doing more inside the trailer as well?  It seems like you will have a lot of projects just doing things in there!  Great find, though...
